BLM produces another violent weekend

All hell broke loose again in several US cities because of this weekend s BLM protests. Some demonstrators blocked the emergency entrance of a hospital, others occupied a bridge, while many called on their fellow citizens to join their riot after a man, brandishing a knife at police, was shot during his arrest.

Black Lives Matter protests continue unabated with several violent riots taking place across the United States over the weekend. The most disturbing incident happened in Los Angeles, where BLM demonstrators reportedly blocked the entrance of a hospital treating critically injured police officers.

Earlier in the day, two officers had to be taken to hospital for emergency treatment after being ambushed in their car. Footage taken of the attack shows the gunman walking up to the patrol car and open fire at the two deputies from close range, without any apparent reason.

Protesters stormed the hospital trying to block its entrance and exit. The crowd – yelling „we hope they die” – also attacked police guarding the hospital entrance, shouting death threats. One witness says the activists were chanting „death to the police” and „kill police”.

Police warned protesters on social media that blocking the entrance and exit of the hospital s emergency room was extremely dangerous, as people s lives are at stake when ambulances can t get through.

New York has also seen its fair share of riots over the weekend. On Saturday, protesters occupied the upper level of George Washington Bridge and began boasting that they were there to „shut down this whole s**t!”

After crossing the bridge, they headed for a police station in Manhattan and clashed with officers.

After scaling the bridge, a protester bragged: „Look how much power we had. We sat on the bridge for 20 minutes. We shut the whole city down.”

Even New York s restaurant guests were unable to stay out of Saturday night s events, as protesters tried to involve them in the demonstrations. One of them wrote „Sorry to interrupt your dinner, it s a revolution.”

Lancaster City, where 27-year-old Ricardo Munoz was killed in a police action on Sunday, also witnessed massive protests. Munoz s death has triggered widespread rioting across the whole city with rioters demanding justice, claiming that Mundoz was slaughtered by a trigger-happy officer.

In reality, however, police responded to a domestic disturbance call when Munoz charged at the arriving officer, brandishing a knife over his head. In a bid to protect himself, the officer drew his service weapon and fired. Bodycam footage shows Munoz charging out the door of a home, knife in hand, with clear intent to attack the officer.

Munoz had an extensive history of violence. In 2019, he was arrested after he had stabbed four people and tried to flee police. He was awaiting criminal trial for that incident.

Despite Munoz s extensive criminal history, BLM protesters took to the streets of Lancaster on Sunday night to protest the shooting, and many rioters have damaged police vehicles. Over the course of the night, protesters became agitated, demanding that live-streamers and journalists stop documenting their activities in the street.

Journalists covering BLM protests are increasingly harassed by the demonstrators. BlazeTV s Elijah Schaffer, who reported on the Rochester protests over the weekend, also became the target of some demonstrators.

Schaffer wrote that someone had intentionally started a rumour that he was a white supremacist, in an effort to encourage protesters to attack him.
