Coalition leaders have reached an agreement and the four coalition parties will continue to work together, Slovak news agency TASR reported. Details, including possible personal changes, will be announced at a joint press briefing.

The agreement includes a memorandum on good governance, a precondition set by the SaS party for continuing with its coalition work, the party wrote on social media.

The text of the memorandum will be drafted by Justice Minister Maria Kolikova (Za ľudí), SaS party chief Richard Sulik said. SaS s chairman also told journalists that he had a two-hour-long face-to-face discussion with PM Igor Matovic ((OĽANO) on Wednesday, and they had clarified several issues.

Sme rodina party chief Boris Kollar also confirmed on Expres Radio that the government crisis was over.

Kollar said that a joint press conference would be held regarding the situation, and added that each coalition partner had gained and given up something.

The government crisis was triggered by the procurement of Russia s Sputnik V vaccine. Neither party wanted an early election, but the SaS and Za ľudí parties called for a government reshuffle and the replacement of certain politicians. Richard Sulik initially demanded the dismissal of Prime Minister Igor Matovic and Health Minister Marek Krajci (both OĽANO), but took one step back later, saying he would be content to see just the health minister resign. The smallest coalition party, Za ľudí, also demanded some personal changes, while Sme rodina stressed that the adoption of five concrete social measures was a pre-requisite to them staying in government.
