On Monday Democratic vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris met the family of Jacob Blake, whose shooting by police during a recent protest in Kenosha has triggered mass riots. The Democratic politician described the Blakes as an incredible family , although it turned out that Blake s father had shared anti-Semitic content online.

On Monday Kamala Harris, the Democratic Party s Vice Presidential candidate visited the family of Jacob Blake, an African-American man shot by officers in Kenosha during a recent police operation. The incident has triggered a series of demonstrations in the city organised by the BLM movement.

Ms Harris praised the family after the meeting, calling them „incredible” and adding that they had endured the events with dignity and grace. Allegedly, she also told Jacob Blake that „I m proud of you” during the meeting.

It soon became clear, however, that the Blakes are not as spotless as the Democratic politician had depicted. Blake s father, Jacob Blake senior, is known to be a vocal advocate of anti-Semitic views. He is active on social media, where he regularly shares anti-Semitic content.

In a 2017 Facebook post, he said Jewish media „picks and chooses who is a terrorist and who is not.” In the same year, he accused the Jews of controlling the general interest rates, the media, as well as people s minds.

The shot man s father shared another post, saying Jewish people in Pittsburgh received advance warning before the  synagogue massacre in October 2018. The shooting claimed 11 lives. In addition, Jacob Blake senior also expressed support for the notoriously anti-Semitic Louis Farrakhan, the leader of the Nation of Islam.

Dov Hinkind, founder of Americans against Antisemitism, also pointed out these issues on television. He condemned Joe Biden for visiting Blake Sr., saying he finds it inconceivable that a meeting between a high-ranking politician and a follower of the country s leading anti-Semite – who continues to spread his hateful messages online – did actually take place.

Democratic politicians appear to take a keen interest in Jacob Blake, who has been wanted by police for sexual harassment and domestic violence, among other things. However, they seem less interested in Aaron „Jay” Danielson, killed during a street protest in Portland. The man was a Trump supporter, and his suspected murderer belonged to Antifa.
