The energy crisis induced by Brussels’s failed climate and energy policies will be felt by residents throughout Europe. An average household will need to pay 54 per cent more for energy than in 2020, Bank of America analysts say. This means that monthly bills will jump by about 55 euros, writes Andras Gyurk, MEP of Hungary’s governing party.

With reference to the upcoming parliamentary elections in Hungary, the politician said, „It is absolutely certain that [if the leftist opposition wins] the left would return to the path of submission and raise the utility prices by a similar proportion. In 2021, their politicians in the European Parliament opposed ensuring access to energy at affordable prices for consumers. They are the same politicians who are still launching ever more aggressive attacks on the utility bill reduction policies in place and the citizens supporting them.”

He added that the Hungarian people can count on the ruling Fidesz and Christian Democratic (KDNP) parties „in this battle. We, on the patriotic side, will continue to represent the interests of Hungarians, in energy policy, as well .”
