How gender ideology has expanded in 2020

Tales promoting gender ideology, transitioning children, gender neutral pronouns and individuals referred to as members of the otherkin community have all been a part of 2020. Gender ideology is gaining ground and receiving a growing attention. If, however, someone tries to express opposing views, they will face efforts to undermine and discredit them.

Besides the coronavirus pandemic, societies around the globe have also had to face the dangers posed by the agressively expanding gender ideology, whose supporters are doing all they can to raise people s awareness.

Those committed to the tenets of gender ideology have made their voice heard even during the recent BLM protests. Having transformed the slogan of the Black Lives Matter movement, they came up with their new, rather unoriginal motto: Black Trans Lives Matter.

This year s gender craze has mainly focused on children, with members of the LGBTQ community using children s books and tales to orient them towards the leftist-liberal ideology.

The latest example is an online post by the popular Cartoon Network channel, which used its characters to teach new gender pronouns to little ones. Many identify as neither male or female, and these persons tend to use gender neutral pronouns like „they/them” or „ze/zir”, the post says.

The characters in the post also explain that use of the „appropriate” pronouns makes all those affected feel better and respected.

The beginning of the year saw a spate of gender-related news regarding a new adaptation of the classic Cinderella fairytale. The producers announced in March that Fairy Godmother s character will be played by Billy Porter. The American actor said the upcoming live-action movie was geared towards a new generation, adding that it was time to change old perceptions and present the classic tale with a different approach.

Billy Porter said he was going to present Fairy Godmother s character as genderless, adding that the new generation was ready, „it s just the adults who are slowing stuff down.”

Efforts to push members of the youngest generation towards sex change have become ever more frequent, something well illustrated by Transhood, a disturbing documentary released this year. The film, which follows the lives of several trans children, is trying to „push” the transgender identity on all of them, even when it is clearly not applicable.

This year viewers also had a chance to familiarise themselves with the story of a 13-year-old boy, who became one of the figure heads of drag culture and the LGBTQ community, even despite his age. Known by his stage name, Desmond is Amazing identifies as a drag kid. He often wears female clothes and makeup. When he was only 2, he used to regularly watch a reality programme showcasing drag stars with his mom and is now able to display a painstakingly accurate notion of „snorting” ketamine.

Drag culture and drag queens have enjoyed somewhat greater attention this year than ever before. Drag queens are typically men who use female clothes and (often) exaggerated makeup. The fact that in many countries they received state or local government support to perform fairy tales for children – desgined to widen the little ones knowledge about LGBTQ issues – has provoked a huge outcry this year.

Besides trans people, members of another category called otherkin have also been thrust into the limelight. They identify not as human, but as representatives of another species. One trans person, for instance, has described how she identifies as a dog, something also reflected by her behaviour: she barks, wags her tail and likes when her ears are scratched.

The case of another trans female who identifies as deer  has also made big waves. In one of her videos, she showed how she goes out to graze in her yard and also explained about „deergasm,” a term that presumably describes how a deer would have an orgasm. Another trans person who made considerable shockwaves online has described himself as a „British Columbia wolf and red fox therian.” He showed how he can growl and explained that he was around 10 or 11 years old when he saw a wolf character in a cartoon and went into „an anime phase”, saying „that s me”.

Just how much the followers of geder ideology are trying to blur the traditional boundaries between male and female is well illustrated by the case of Freddy McConnell, born a woman, who wanted to be registered as her child s father in 2020.

Freddy McConnell, who launched a lawsuit, lived as a woman until 2013 and then decided to change her gender. Although she received various treatments and underwent surgery to have her breasts removed, she retained her female reproductive system and gave birth in 2018. Naturally, she appeared as the mother on her child s birth certificate, but – in line with her new, chosen identity – she wanted to feature as the child s father.

The court ruled that being a „mother,” whilst hitherto always associated with being female, is the status afforded to a person who undergoes the physical and biological process of carrying a pregnancy and giving birth. Although Freddy appealed, both the high court and the appeal court ruled that she was her child s mother. Freddy said she won t give up, and she promised further legal proceedings.

An organisation called Proud Trust has also been stretching the boundaries of the traditional two genders. They published a booklet containing a series of programmes, teaching children, for example, to avoid using phrases like „female vagina” or „male penis” and instead just say „a person with a vagina/penis”, because not every woman has a vagina, nor is it self-evident that every man has a penis.

In full compliance with the tenets of the ideology, a 21-year-old trans woman explained online a few month ago that his  penis did not conflict with being male to female at all. „It s part of my body and I am a female, so my penis is a female sex organ,” he wrote.

Undermine all those who disagree

This year we witnessed some open, explicit efforts aimed at trying to boycott and silence all those who disagree with the extremes of gender ideology, or those who hold different views.

This is what happened to „Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling who – after reading an article where those who menstruate were described as gender neutral persons – went so far as to claim on social media that people who menstruate are „women.” Rowling was subsequently accused of transphobia and even called a TERF, a trans-exclusionary radical feminist.

Labour MP Rosie Duffield faced similar accusations after tweeting that „only women have a cervix.” Her tweet was a reaction to an earlier post by CNN, which talked of „individuals with a cervix”, without ever mentioning the word „women”.

The supporters of gender ideology have criticised and tried to undermine both Rowling and Duffield, as well as many others who expressed different views. This growing trend is perhaps best illustrated by what is now known as the so-cancel culture. In 2020, a big chain store in the US removed the books of two authors, both women, from its online catalogue without any advance notice. Interestingly, both writers spoke up against the madness of gender ideology.

In a much more dramatic incident, police removed a teenage girl from her parents home and placed her in state care, because the parents have failed to consent to her self-declared trans identity. In October a court ruled that the girl cannot return home because she would be in danger, and there was also a risk that she could do harm to herself.
