Hungary s ruling party alliance continues to block immigration in 2020
MEPs of the Fidesz-Christian Democrat (KDNP) Party Alliance consider it as their most important task in 2020 to stop immigration across Europe, head of the governing party s delegation to the EP, Tamas Deutsch, told a press conference in Budapest on Friday.
The politician recalled that the Fidesz-Christian Democrat (KDNP) party alliance had scored an overwhelming victory in last year s EP election with the highest-ever voter turnout, securing 13 out of the 21 seats allocated to Hungary.
With this mandate from Hungarian voters, Hungary s ruling parties are obliged not only to block immigration to Europe, but also to do their utmost to protect Europe s Christian way of life and Hungary s national interests, the Hungarian MEP said.
Tamas Deutsch stressed that Hungarian opposition MEPs are actively involved in anti-Hungarian politics, undermining Hungary s interests with regular and increasingly aggressive attacks. These opposition MEPs work together in a coordinated effort to trigger another Article 7 procedure or similar measures against Hungary, he added.
