PM Orban: Common sense must also prevail

A good agreement serving the unity of the European Union is within reach. Besides a victory for the European Union, we are also fighting for common sense to prevail, Prime Minister Viktor Orban said in Brussels on Thursday ahead of the two-day summit of EU heads of state and government.

The Hungarian prime minister underlined that important negotiations are expected to take place at the EU summit beginning on Thursday.

„Today we are fighting for the unity of our shared continent. Even more importantly, besides a victory for the European Union, we are also fighting for common sense to prevail. Our nations and millions of people are in dire need of it to combat the pandemic and the ensuant economic fallout. We must act rationally to find the way that leads to reliable solutions and the victory of common sense,” Viktor Orban said.
