Mr Orban said they have reached an agreement, which will be announced soon, adding that common sense prevailed.

„We won, because amidst the current difficulties, such as the pandemic and the economic crisis, there is no time for ideological and political debates that are holding us back from taking action,” Viktor Orban said.

With this decision, we have managed to preserve the unity of Europe, the prime minister added.

Everyone knows that the agreement marks the end of one phase only, and there are proposals on the table that will be disliked by many member states, including Hungary, such as migration and the anti-family measures planned by Brussels, he explained.

„Today we achieved three things. We defended the European Constitution, thwarting efforts to bypass it. We averted the danger of forcing Hungarians with budgetary means to take decisions we do not want to take and accept, and we defended Hungarians money, which will come in handy during the economic development in the next few years,” Orban said.

At the end of his video Viktor Orban said „we can put the champagne in the fridge”.
