The National Assembly adopted the budget on restarting the Hungarian economy, PM Orban announced in a video published on Facebook on Tuesday.

We want to achieve an economic growth of 5,5 per cent, he said, adding that although „the budget serves as a good foundation, in itself it won t be enough.”

We need „brave and unusual government measures to raise our economic growth above 5,5 per cent, but if we succeed, we can refund families with children their personal income taxes that they paid in 2021,” Mr Orban said.

The government will continue to restore and rebuild the 13th month pensions, PM Orban said. He added that young employees below the age of 25 will not have to pay personal income tax, while an agreement could be reached with businesses to raise the minimum wage to HUF 200,000 (some 577 euros) and labour-related taxes could be reduced again.

„It s a huge task, but not impossible! Go for it, Hungarians!” the prime minister concluded his announcement.
