Politico propagandists have difficulty tolerating other views
Tensions were running high at the editorial board of the US Politico newspaper, as staffers found it difficult to accept that Politico s newsletter was complied by Ben Shapiro, a conservative political commentator-journalist.
„Politico Playbook„, the newsletter of the US Politico newspaper, is widely considered by experts to be the number one political newsletter in the US. On 14 January, it was compiled by Ben Shapiro, a conservative commentator, radio presenter and editor emeritus of the Daily Wire portal. The newsletter was titled „The Real Reason Most Republicans Opposed Impeachment.”
Shapiro s appearance at Politico, however, has provoked outrage among liberals, and they voiced their indignation on social media.
Wall Street Journal reporter Sabrina Siddiqui tweeted the following, and she also shared an article panning Shapiro:
I would appreciate if someone from @politico would read all the racist things Ben Shapiro has said about Arabs and Muslims here and then explain why they chose to give him a platform https://t.co/bH5CmhiqE4

Vox journalist Aaron Rupar responded to the news as follows:
I understand the desire to have balance, but lying about stuff like Ben Shapiro does in this column (comparing Bernie Sanders to Trump, equivocating Trumps voter fraud lies with Stacey Abrams) isnt really a „side” that needs to be platformed https://t.co/xfiH4TkIKX

The excessive outcry has forced even Matt Kaminski, Politico s editor-in-chief, to weigh in on the issue:
„We published a piece by a very prominent writer, provocateur, and podcaster. We stand by every word in there, it was very closely edited,” he told Yahoo! News.
The paper also published a statement, saying „we have taken great care to assemble a roster of guest authors who are prominent thinkers and writers and represent a range of perspectives.”
Not only did propagandists from other liberal publications speak out against Shapiro s involvement, but Politico employees also freaked out during a Zoom meeting attended by more than 200 people.
One staff member complained about Shapiro s alleged „long history of bigoted commentary.”
Erik Wemple from the Washington Post said he had talked with authors at Politico and found the following:
Just chatted with a pair of @politico staffers who dissent from the prevailing outrage over the @benshapiro guest-hosting gig. They say they didnt speak up on the call because the sentiment is so heated and one-sided.

Ben Shapiro also responded to the scandal on Twitter.
My point: conservatives believe that Leftists want to ostracize them as evil, and then shut them down
