The 15th Bled Strategic Forum was held on Monday, also attended by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who stayed another day in Slovenia to have bilateral talks with his Slovenian counterpart, Janez Jansa on Tuesday, 1 September.

Strategic issues underpinning the foundations of long-term cooperation with Slovenia are on the table, Viktor Orban said after the meeting. Resolving these issues have begun and it will take a few more months to finalise solutions. Parties agreed that Hungary and Slovenia are working to build a sincere, good neighbourly relationship in the long run.

The Hungarian head of government emphasized that the „spiritual basis” for this could be the national communities and the assistance provided by Hungary to Slovenia during the coronavirus epidemic. Mr Orban also noted that Hungarian-Slovenian relations in general are much better today than ever before.

Slovenian PM Janez Jansa also handed over a memorial certificate to Viktor Orban in Bled on Tuesday to commemorate the Hungarian assistance during the first wave of the coronavirus epidemic.
