President s message on son s health gets censored

Censorship on social media has reached a new level. It appears that US President Donald Trump cannot share a simple post without it being flagged, even if his message is not about the election.

Large tech companies have launched a downright vendetta against US president Donald Trump, who has received the fiercest of attacks from Twitter.

The tsunami of deletions began right after the election on 3 November.

„Last night I was leading, often solidly, in many key states, in almost all instances Democrat run and controlled. Then, one by one, they started to magically disappear as surprise ballot dumps were counted. VERY STRANGE.”

Twitter deleted the tweet within half an hour.

After that, the platform censored practically every tweet of the president.

According to the Newsbuster portal, Trump and his campaign have been censored by Twitter 325 times. By comparison, neither former Vice President Joe Biden, nor his campaign have been censored on the platform.

The portal writes that Twitter slapped labels on 63 Trump tweets since 23 November. Some of the flagged tweets included clips from One America News Network and  Newsmax, but Elizabeth Harrington, spokesperson for the Republican National Committee, was not spared either. In additional, post by other public figures, analysts and politicians have also been flagged.

Between 30 November and 7 December, another 111 labels were slapped on Trump s tweets and tweets from his official campaign account.

Vying to take an active role in what may be described as a censorship tsunami, Facebook and Instagram recently began flagging posts that have nothing to do with the US presidential race.

On 21 November Facebook, for example, slapped a label on Trump s post that said the president s older son, Donald Trump Jr, was doing well after testing positive for coronavirus.

On 7 December, Instagram labelled a photo posted by the president to commemorate Pearl Harbour. The label has been removed by now.
