He spent a lot of money on influencing the presidential election

In addition to the coronavirus epidemic, the hottest topic this year was the presidential election in the United States. Democrat Joe Biden defeated Donald Trump in the voting on 3 November, albeit under suspicious circumstances.

One of the most generous supporters of the Democratic Party, Mr Soros used his network and money to shape the outcome of the vote according to his own taste. To that end, he set up a Political Action Committee called the Democracy PAC, which he generously endowed with money.

According to a database by the U.S. Federal Election Commission, the Democracy PAC earned 77.7 million dollars in donations. Its expenses included support to candidates, bank charges and legal advice. By comparison, in the 2016 term ending with Hillary Clinton s defeat, Soros spent more than 25 million dollars to support Democratic candidates.
