„At the beginning of the year, we were facing the unknown, but today we know more, so our preparedness is at a higher level,” the Hungarian state secretary said, adding that Hungarians must get themselves ready for a long fight on many fronts, because vaccines for mass use have yet to be discovered.

The key goals are to protect the elderly who are the most exposed to the virus, to make sure that the education is up and running, to restore the economy as soon as possible and to protect jobs, Csaba Domotor concluded.

The politician also mentioned that the government had clarified the rules for entry on Friday and those who can prove that their travel is business-related can return to the country without restrictions.

The clarifications also include the acceptance of a coronavirus test performed abroad upon entry, Csaba Domotor added.

Regarding the education, he described the fact that the new academic year could begin as quite an achievement. At the same time, schools were given a detailed epidemiological protocol to prevent infections.

The state secretary also emphasized that if the virus appears in institutions, there is room for individual decisions can to resolve the situation.

Responding to a question, Mr Domotor stressed that the national consultation was over and the questionnaire has been returned by 1,793,000 people, which makes it the second most successful survey the Hungarian government has ever conducted to find out about people s opinion.
