Emmanuel Macron may have lied about his vaccination
The French head of state claimed to have been vaccinated against the coronavirus with his wife on 31 May, but an investigative portal said it happened much later, in mid-summer.
It is possible that the French president failed to tell the truth about his inoculation against the coronavirus, the French investigative portal Mediapart pointed out.
President Macron allegedly received the first dose of the vaccine on 31 May, which he made public in a one-word tweet: „Vacciné”, meaning vaccinated in French.
Vacciné !

Several leading French politicians also reported their being vaccinated, including Prime Minister Jean Castex. The PM, however, also posted a photo on the social media site, whereas Macron only tweeted that single word, without any pictures.

The office of the French president argued that Emmanuel Macron had not published a picture of his vaccination because they did not want to portray him as a hero.
Health Minister Olivier Veran was among the first to receive the jab, well documented by cameras in early February.
According to the official position, Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte, were vaccinated against coronavirus on 31 May. As they had both contracted the disease last December, they only needed one dose of the vaccine to gain protection. When Mediapart obtained the presidential couple’s vaccination certificates from the health insurance database, they came upon a startling discovery: Emmanuel Macron was vaccinated not on 31 May, but only a month and a half later, on 13 July, according to the official records. This date is particularly important because, the French president announced just the night before that vaccination will be mandatory from mid-September for all health workers who have direct contact with patients. Those who do not get inoculated will not be allowed to work and will not be paid.
Mediapart asked the president’s office about the news. They responded that Mr Macron’s vaccination documentation was not submitted to the health authorities on time due to a human error. This means that the presidential office still insists that the head of state was vaccinated on 31 May, but the official documents were only submitted on 13 July. It is noteworthy that the documents of Brigitte Macron were forwarded to the health insurance company on the same day, 31 May.
There are many controversies surrounding the French president’s inoculation, but this is not the first time that he has been untruthful. Before winning the 2017 elections, the president had promised to appoint a female prime minister, but this still has not happened, Gala.fr reported last November. The first head of government under Macron was Edouard Philippe, followed by incumbent prime minister Jean Castex, who has been in office since 3 July 2020.
Macron made another controversial remark before being elected, which he seems to have completely forgotten about since then. The case of Eric Dupond-Moretti, the justice minister who was indicted for conflict of interest this July, brought one of Macron’s statements made in 2017 into the limelight. Macron said back then that if a minister was prosecuted for suspected corruption, that minister should immediately hand in their resignation.

However, this has not happened in Dupond-Moretti’s case, who is still in office despite the serious allegations and the ongoing investigation.
