According to plans, the temporary medical facilities will be ready to receive patients as early as 1 February.

Slovakia’s health ministry is preparing for a new surge in the coronavirus pandemic by erecting temporary crisis hospitals , the ujszo.com news portal reports. The makeshift facilities are to be set up in district towns, with preliminary assessments regarding the measure having already been conducted in some locations.

„The care would be provided partly by medical students or lower-ranking health workers,” ujszo.com cited Zuzana Eliasova, the spokesperson for the Slovak Health Ministry.

The portal points out that the first temporary hospitals are planned to be operational from 1 February.
