PM Orban attends NATO summit in person

The Hungarian prime minister was the only one from the heads of state and government of NATO member states to attend the extraordinary summit of the alliance in person in Brussels on Friday. At the NATO Headquarters, Mr Orban also had a meeting with Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, his press chief Bertalan Havasi told Hungary's state news agency (MTI).

The member states discussed Russia’s attack on Ukraine by video conference. Apart from Viktor Orban, NATO ambassadors also attended the meeting in person.

Arriving at NATO Headquarters, the Hungarian prime minister reaffirmed: in the current war situation, Hungary’s security comes first, and he also stressed that Hungary – together with NATO – is protecting its own borders as well as those of Europe, his press chief said.
