A major outcry has erupted in the United Kingdom after a government job advertising website posted a vacancy for a Sharia court position. The effort to normalise Sharia law in certain circles in Western Europe is not new. Intelligence services are also raising the alarm.

An advert for a Sharia law court job posted on a government website caused widespread outrage. Demanding the removal of the post, MPs and public figures stated that this should „never, ever be allowed in Britain”. They insist that the British state should not be promoting a separate justice system based on Islamic law.

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage also expressed outrage at the advert, asserting that the country was being „destroyed”. The roles offering an annual salary of £23,500 were advertised on the Department for Work and Pensions GOV UK website.

According to a report by the Express, Patrick Christys highlighted on X:

Similarly, GB News presenter and Reform UK MP Richard Tice also said:

“Sharia law is not legal in the UK. So why is the government recruiting a Sharia law administrator?”

The People’s Voice news outlet reported.

Several MPs have also reacted to the job advert. Reform’s Zia Yusuf wrote: “There is only one legal system in the UK. Any attempt to upend or replace it should be illegal.” Tory MP Peter Bedford also commented: “I would be aghast if a politician signed off allowing recruitment for this type of role. I suspect, once again, this is the out-of-control civil service creating and implementing policy contrary to democratic authority. This must stop.”

The job for a ‘Sharia law administrator’ is located at Manchester Community Centre in Didsbury.

The advert description requested an individual to „provide all admin and secretarial work for Manchester Sharia Council (MSC),” including to “plan, manage, organise and oversee all MSC social and sharia services and activities on a day-to-day basis.” The required experience on the advert also states that the candidate must have a diploma or degree in Sharia law and „working experience in Sharia law related fields and/or Shariah courts in Muslim countries.”

Key skills included „boundary setting”, with the advert noting: „The nature of the work means it is easy to get emotionally involved in certain cases.”

According to MailOnline, a spokesperson for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) said: “This is a position being advertised on the Find A Job portal by an independent registered charity and is not within DWP. Find A Job is a free platform to help jobseekers find vacancies with employers from various sectors.”

The Norwegian news outlet Document reported that the Manchester Community Centre’s stated goal is to „provide a place of worship, hold study groups to teach religious practice, teach people to read the Quran in Arabic and celebrate all religious holidays.”

This organisation is said to be affiliated with the Didsbury Mosque, where the terrorist behind the horrific terrorist attack at Manchester Arena, Salman Abedi, and his imprisoned accomplice brother Hashem, were active.

The article also points out that the push to normalise Sharia law is not new within segments of the Western European left.

Norway was among the first to promote this agenda, led by former Minister of Local Government Erna Solberg over 15 years ago. At the time, Solberg wanted a Muslim Sharia council in Norway, based on an idea from State Secretary Kristin Ormen Johnsen from Drammen, who had held several meetings with British Sharia councils.

Sharia is Infiltrating Western Societies

Recent intelligence reports from Western agencies have raised alarms about the creeping Islamization of Europe, particularly in Germany, Austria, Belgium, Britain, France, the Netherlands, and Spain, according to Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom. The outlet pointed out that

these intelligence reports highlight a subversive effort to infiltrate social and governmental institutions from within, with the ultimate goal of establishing Sharia-based governance.

The Muslim Brotherhood emerges as a central player in these reports, operating on both local and European levels.

Under the guise of youth movements, social organisations, or welfare charities, the group projects a liberal image while advancing its Islamist agenda. Its strategy focuses on influencing Muslim communities, reshaping public consciousness, and gaining political legitimacy to push for legislative changes and special religious rights.

Western intelligence agencies describe this approach as „bottom-up Islamisation,” a deliberate tactic to transform societies gradually.

Although the Muslim Brotherhood is not classified as a terrorist organisation in Europe, security services in multiple countries closely monitor its activities, viewing it as an ideological and subversive threat to democratic order.

These reports warn of the creation of parallel societal structures that challenge Europe’s core values, with the Muslim Brotherhood aiming to establish an „Islamic caliphate through peaceful means,” though leaving room for violence if it serves their goals. Security agencies thus identify the group as a persistent strategic threat.

Paradoxically, the Muslim Brotherhood exploits Western tools to achieve its objectives, even receiving funding from the European Union and Western governments.

For instance, over the past decade, the EU has provided more than €40 million to Islamic Relief Worldwide, an organisation allegedly tied to the Muslim Brotherhood. Despite presenting itself as a humanitarian charity, Islamic Relief Worldwide promotes extreme anti-Semitic, anti-Western, and homophobic views. In 2020, its deputy director, Tayeb Abdoun, was sacked after posting a Facebook image of a knife with a caption endorsing violence: „Lay the bodies of the Jews on the top of the mountains, so that no dog in Palestine must suffer hunger.”
