A Minnesota lawmaker, who identifies as a transgender woman, has controversially argued against age restrictions on pornographic websites. She believes that queer children need access to pornography for "educational" purposes.

The representative from Minnesota, who identifies as female but is biologically male, stated that age restrictions on pornographic sites, which many advocate for to protect children’s innocence, somehow serve as a weapon against queer children. „Many state lawmakers are very clear – they almost celebrate that these laws can be used to deny young people access to content that could be educational if they are queer,” argued Leigh Finke during a committee meeting.

„You are a principal, you have LGBT students in your school, and we also know that sexual education is not being provided to queer children. We know that for many, the existence of transgender children can also provoke sexual interest,” Finke elaborated, as reported by The Post Millennial.

One user, who identified as gay, responded to the video saying: „As a gay man and clinical mental health researcher working with the LGBT community, adults like those in this video are once again making the existence of gay children unsettling. Decades of progress have been lost. There are gay children, but there is no such thing as ‘queer children.’ No child needs pornography to learn who they are – they need supportive families, friends, and time.”

Another user reacted to the clip by stating: „We live in a world where a man dressed as a woman is lobbying for children’s access to pornography.”

Finke began identifying as female in 2017 and only started to identify as bisexual in her late thirties. Before transitioning, Finke was married and has two children. She and her ex-wife now live separately and are raising their children in different homes.
