Comic Books Also Spread LGBTQ Propaganda
Marvel comics are filled with queer characters and LGBTQ "stars." The stories and character identities featured in Marvel Universe publications have essentially become part of LGBTQ propaganda.
Despite writers only recently being officially allowed to openly portray LGBTQ characters, Disney’s Marvel Comics universe features a plethora of queer characters. Many say Marvel Comics — a long-time favorite among children and young people – has actually included LGBTQ identities for decades.
The company introduced its first queer character back in 1979, in a scene when two men attempted to sexually assault another male character.
A Special Edition for Pride Month
For the past five years, Marvel has released a special issue for Pride Month. According to its creators, Marvel United: Pride Special “unites Marvel heroes against hate and fear.”
In other words, a long-running comic series is being used for LGBTQ propaganda.
This year’s issue, according to its description,
contains four inspiring and action-packed adventures featuring iconic characters and fan-favorite heroes.
However, some fans are dissatisfied with Marvel’s LGBTQ-promoting publications and want more of the rainbow identity also appearing in films. Critics also say Marvel films have too few LGBTQ superheroes, arguing that they want „greater acceptance” in this area as well.
Who Are Marvel’s LGBTQ Stars?
The first major openly gay character created by Marvel Comics was Northstar. Marvel fans are well aware of the characters in the Marvel Universe — to the extent that a fan website has compiled a list of the most popular LGBTQ characters. From the short descriptions, a complete LGBTQ Marvel Universe emerges.
One long-time Marvel favorite is Loki, but the character’s sexual identity was only recently been confirmed . It turns out the trickster god is bisexual and gender-fluid.
