Violence is common across Germany. Migrants regularly engage in brawls with each other up and harass women and young girls. The problem is not new, with several incidents taking place last year.

With the arrival of summer, the open-air bathing season has started. In immigrant countries like Germany, however, bathing is far from being a safe outdoor activity. Employees of an outdoor swimming pool complex in Berlin have written to the daily Der Tagesspiegel complaining about vandalising gangs of migrants who sexually harass women and regularly start fights. Recently, a brawl broke out on a beach in the Neukolln district, forcing the premature closure of the facility, and the letter in question was written. The complex announced on Wednesday that the swimming pool would remain closed for the rest of the week due to a lack of staff. Several staff members have reported being sick instead.

The number of incidents and the behaviour of some bathers is extremely stressful for our very dedicated pool staff,” the letter reads.

„We have asked for help, but promises are always made and nothing happens. We can’t take it anymore,” one employee told Der Tagesspiegel. The staff reported several incidents of being threatened, pushed and spat on by African migrants. The immigrants also threatened by starting a riot similar to the a New Year’s Eve riots. The workers told German media that the situation was getting out of hand. Employees also described the level of hygiene as disastrous.

„The bushes are full of human excrement, and the sanitary facilities are smeared with urine and human faeces,” the letter said.

To deal with the crisis, workers demand extra support and a constant police presence in the facility, while also demanding that only families with children are allowed to enter the complex and that all tickets have the names of their holders on them so that offenders can be easily identified and banned for any further misdemeanours.

Federal Interior Minister Nancy Faeser responded to the letter and said she supports a permanent police presence at problematic baths in Germany.

However, in an opinion piece in the German newspaper Junge Freiheit, Henning Hoffgaard mocks Faeser’s position, writing, „The same interior minister who said border controls were evil wants police controls in baths now. Does she see the contradiction? Probably not.”

The increasingly popular right-wing Alternative for Germany (AfD) party said the federal government was to blame for pursuing an open borders policy in recent years, and that Germans were now paying the price.

„In the 90s, as a teenager, I was able to go to the swimming pool in Berlin in complete safety without any worries. Today, Arab male aggression dominates the facilities and almost colonises the beaches. The solution is not more police. These men need to get out of swimming pools and out of Germany!” – wrote AfD politician Thorsten Weiss on Twitter.

The situation is no better in places where there is no police force deployed.

Frenzied migrants often harass women and very young teenage girls on beaches. This was as a problem also last year, just like aggression. As V4NA reported earlier, such an incident occurred in the Bavarian town of Kaufbeuren. There, young migrants harassed 12-year-old girls at one of the pools in the town’s bath. According to witnesses, members of the migrant group held the girls down and touched their private parts. A beach worker noticed and rushed to help the girls, but the attackers managed to escape before police arrived.

Earlier, Similar incidents happened in Pforzheim. On one occasion, a 24-year-old Pakistani and three Iraqis aged 16-17 groped two girls at the Emma Jaeger spa. About two hours later, another harassment took place in the same bath. A middle-aged migrant man approached a 15-year-old girl and deliberately grabbed her bottom. The girl protested. The man apologised in broken German and fled. On the same day, another sexual attack was reported from nearby Stuttgart. Police say a 16-17-year-old Arab-looking suspect molested two girls. He grabbed one of them by the thigh and tried to pull down her trousers. The girl managed to push her husband away, who then turned to the other girl, pinned her against the wall, pulled down her own trousers and started masturbating.
