Multiculturalism has destroyed Sweden

"Multiculturalism has led to an increase in crime, division and weakening of solidarity in Sweden," writes Jimmie Akesson, leader of the Sweden Democrats, the second largest party in Sweden's parliament.

All is not lost yet, but Sweden’s situation is rather grim

The Swedes can no longer boast the reputation of a small, peaceful country in the north, says Jimmie Akesson. Society lacks a sense of community and Sweden’s positive image as a country with an innovative and competitive economy driven by entrepreneurship, research and development is under threat.

„Within a short time, we have gone from being one of the most culturally homogeneous societies in the world to one where tensions and polarisation are the greatest in today’s Europe,”

the politician told the Expressen newspaper, as quoted by the Polish WPolityce paper. According to the leader of the Sweden Democrats, the second largest parliamentary force, hardly a day goes by without media reports about another shooting, murder or explosion. People affected by violence and drugs are increasingly young. Without thinking about the consequences, ruling politicians have located people coming from all corners of the world in the Swedish suburbs, which are now characterised by segregation, exclusion, and high unemployment.

In a lengthy report, the Sydsvenskan news portal recently revealed an increasingly common phenomenon in Sweden: as migrants from non-Western countries move into a given area, the Swedish population moves out. This trend is currently the most evident in Malmo.

The town has recently become notorious for crime, with migrant gangs taking control of certain areas and the police losing control of the city.

Malmo’s population has been growing steadily, due to the fact that a large number of migrants arriving in Sweden decide to settle here. At the same time, the number of Swedes is dwindling as they move in droves to smaller, safer settlements in the surrounding area.

Staffanstorp in the vicinity of Malmo is a good example of this phenomenon. Within a few decades, the settlement expanded with a completely new district built for Swedes moving out of large cities.

Besides families, these small towns are becoming increasingly popular with young people. In many places, it was necessary to establish so-called hostel towns for the young students who do not want to stay in the city centre.

However, Anna Jahnke, chairwoman of the development committee of Skane region, warned that if the authorities do not do something, segregation will intensify in the region’s cities.

Anna Raman, the head of the analysis at the unit for regional department which monitors migration flows in Sweden, said that small municipalities does not take their share of social responsibility when they unilaterally attract well-off Swedes and leave disadvantaged migrants in the cities. Raman opined that these municipalities exclude the group undergoing the largest growth in Sweden.

The leader of the Sweden Democrats pointed out that this negative development has not unfolded by accident, but it is the result of „decades of insistent attack on the Swedish society and nation.” According to Akesson, politicians promoted multiculturalism and avoided talking about the negative sides of mass migration. By that they violated the democratic principles and acted against voters’ interests.

„The blame, of course, lies with the politicians who have glorified multiculturalism and denied the development of the society we have been warning against for so long. Instead of listening, they slandered us. But with a knife to the throat, other parties have also been forced to change their immigration policies.”

According to Akesson, reversing the negative trend will take years and will require decisive action, including the introduction of an annual cap on the admission of immigrants and requirements for those who want to settle. „Sweden must end the multicultural experiment. … The continuation of large-scale and irregular migration is damaging to the economy, prosperity and cohesion, and it is unsustainable,” the politician said.

Migrants not willing to learn Swedish

As previously reported by V4NA, most immigrants with poor school education have no intention to learn Swedish, according to a teacher working in Sweden.

51-year-old Swedish teacher Richard Holmgren has been teaching Swedish to migrants in Linkoping for about ten years. In the past two and a half years, he has taught the so-called 1C course, where the number refers to the students’ existing skill levels. In this case, it denotes low skills, while the letter C indicates a level corresponding to the 4th or 5th grade of Swedish primary schools.

Mr Holmgren has recently written an opinion piece published in the local paper Corren about his experiences in the profession, which received a lot of attention. He wrote that during the time he has taught the 1C level, only 8 out of 100 students have passed the exam.

He says most poorly skilled migrants find it challenging to spell certain words, or to write sentences in Swedish, despite having spent 14 months on learning the language at a basic level.

Richard Holmgrenn stressed that the figures he presented were his firsthand experience gained as a teacher of immigrants, many of whom received no education at all before arriving in Sweden.

„I take these numbers from my classes that I’ve been delivering for two and a half years. We evaluate four areas: reading, writing, speaking and listening comprehension,” Mr Holmgrenn added.

The students stay in the system for years without learning the language, the teacher said. Those in power bury their heads in the sand, he remarked, adding that it is a systemic mistake to believe that all poorly skilled people arriving in Sweden will be able to participate in education and get a job.

„You need secondary or tertiary education to be employable. So you have to work your way through the system until you reach that level. There are many who will never make it. Everyone should go through this system. They say that everyone can do it, but this isn’t true. This is what I want to show,”
