Zelensky family leads a life of luxury

The war has been raging for more than three years, yet the Zelensky family continued to amass wealth last year. They live a life of luxury, earning thousands of euros in 2024 as well.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his family declared an income of 15.2 million hryvnias (more than 340 thousand euros) last year, according to the president’s 2024 asset declaration. Both Zelensky and his wife own multiple properties and have a taste for expensive watches and clothing. They live a life of luxury.

Nearly half of the Zelensky family’s income came from selling government bonds, the remainder from Zelensky’s salary, bank interest, and the rental of privately owned properties.

According to the Ukrainian newspaper Ukrainska Pravda, the president’s salary amounted to 336 thousand hryvnias (about 7,500 euros).

Similar to the previous year, Zelensky owns a 131.9-square-metre apartment in Kyiv, two garages measuring 20.9 and 20.7 square metres in Kyiv, 25 per cent of a 254.5-square-metre Kyiv apartment co-owned with the Shefir brothers, and 50 per cent of a 198.6-square-metre apartment co-owned with Serhiy Shefir.

First Lady Olena Zelenska owns a 129.8-square-metre apartment in Crimea (Livadia) and a 16.1-square-metre parking space, as well as 33 per cent of a 337.8-square-metre non-residential property shared with Larisa Shefir, and a 284-square-metre apartment in Kyiv.

According to the asset declaration, the Zelensky couple has had the right to use a 91.9-square-metre property since 2014, as well as a state-owned dacha in Kyiv with auxiliary buildings and structures on a total area of 4,011.10 square metres.

Zelensky also owns a 2016 Land Rover, while his wife drives a 2014 Mercedes-Benz S 500 4Matic. The couple possesses expensive watches from brands such as Breguet, Rolex, Tag Heuer, Piaget, and Bovet.

The Zelensky family enjoys their luxurious lifestyle

However, the asset declaration does not include certain luxury villas that may also be in the Zelensky family’s possession.

As previously reported by V4NA, an investigative portal claimed that Volodymyr Zelensky’s family acquired a luxury villa worth five million euros in Egypt’s upmarket tourist area. An Egyptian investigative journalist provided exclusive information about the Ukrainian president and his family on The Medium online forum. The article suggests that the Zelensky family may have obtained a luxury villa in El Gouna, known as the city of millionaires.

According to media reports, Olga Kiyashko, whose name matches that of Zelensky’s mother-in-law, owns a luxury estate valued at five million dollars. The estate includes a lavish villa with exquisite interior decor and a swimming pool, located on the beachfront with a stunning sea view. The villa is in the same neighbourhood as that of world-renowned Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie.

This is not the first time the international press has reported on Zelensky’s luxurious lifestyle. Last September, Italian, German, and Swiss news portals unanimously reported that Zelensky’s lavish villa in Tuscany was likely rented out in August to a Russian millionaire couple with a London address. According to unconfirmed sources, the renters paid fifty thousand euros for the seaside property in Forte dei Marmi.

Back in 2017, through multiple companies, Zelensky purchased the luxury villa in one of Italy’s most expensive holiday resorts for 3.8 million euros.

The title deed reads that the property is owned by San Tommaso S. R. L., a company registered in Cantu in the province of Como, and it is managed by Pishchanska Svitlana, an old friend of Zelensky.

San Tommaso itself is a subsidiary of Aldorante Limited. This front company has a capital of only 2,000 euros and is headquartered in Cyprus. Its sole shareholder is Olena Zelenska, the wife of Volodymyr Zelensky. The Ukrainian president served as the director of the company until 2019.

The villa itself is 413 square metres and is located just 400 metres from the sea in central Forte dei Marmi. The property villa boasts a grand total of 15 rooms. On the ground floor there is a spa area with a sauna and a jacuzzi, and a gym.

It is worth noting that about one-third of the properties in the area—approximately 2,500 villas—are owned by Russians. Frequent visitors include Roman Abramovich, Oleg Deripaska, Boris Gromov, Oleg Tinkov, and Alexey Kudin.

The Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera reached out to the real estate agent managing Zelensky’s villa, who stated that they could not disclose personal information about the tenants. However, according to local sources cited by the portal, the tenants were likely Russians who had long held a London address and possibly even British citizenship.

Olena Zelenska loves expensive clothes and jewelry

Volodymyr Zelensky’s wife, Ukraine’s first lady, loves being in the spotlight, enjoys attention, and, of course, luxury. While Ukraine is ravaged by war and people die day after day, Zelenska lives the life of a billionaire. The media was previously abuzz when she accompanied her husband to the UN General Assembly—or rather, just traveled with him to New York—where she reportedly visited high-end boutiques, including the French luxury brand brand Cartier. A store employee even posted on Instagram, claiming to have met Zelensky’s wife, who allegedly spent 1.1 million dollars in the store. She has made headlines for similar indulgences before, such as spending tens of thousands of euros shopping in luxury stores in Paris.

V4NA also reported that during a visit to Brussels, she appeared wearing an outfit from a leading fashion brand, with a similar piece from the same collection listed on the brand’s website for 2,000 euros. With shoes and accessories, the total outfit could have cost between four and five thousand euros.

Discussions about Olena Zelenska’s clothing and accessories frequently take place on social media. She often buys from Ukrainian designers and has been seen wearing A.M.G. brand clothing multiple times, including during her meeting with Portugal’s president last autumn. The prices of these garments range from approximately 380 to 1,500 dollars. While social media users generally appreciate her support for local designers, they also note that these prices are far beyond the reach of the average Ukrainian citizen.
