A recently released movie presents and openly promotes pedophilia, except that it is pushing the envelope even further: its lead character is engaged in a relationship with the robot version of his own daughter. Many were outraged at the film s attempt to normalise pedophilia, an endeavour that has been encouraged by other platforms, too.

When we happen to be unruffled and free from headaches over gender ideology, we are instantly faced with another controversial issue: pedophilia. There have been several attempts to normalise this approach as members of the so-called MAP community have recently formed a group on social media. The acronym stands for „minor attracted people”, which pedophiles consider themselves to be, asserting that there is nothing wrong with their attitude. They now want to gain acceptance by hiding behind the LGBT community, but most people can still see their true colours.

A movie screened recently at the 2020 Berlinale film fest is yet another attempt to promote, and even normalise, pedophilia. The movie called Trouble with Being Born was directed by Austrian filmmaker Sandra Wollner. Critics have slammed the film saying it s not too good, and not simply because of the plot.

The story is absolutely outrageous. It is about a father who gets a child-like android to replace his 10-year old daughter, who died 10 years ago. Although the sexual relationship the man has with the robot, called Elli, is implied (the actual scenes have been cut), there is no doubt that the father is having a sexual relationship with her. In one scene Elli is laying naked on the counter as her father removes her vagina and tongue for cleaning. 

It is perhaps even more disconcerting that the robot is played by Lena Watson, an actual 10-year old girl. Elli s role was originally supposed to be played by a 20-year-old actress, but after the more explicit sex scenes had been removed, the director decided to change Elli s age to 10. The severity of the situation is clearly shown by the fact that the young actress wore a silicone mask and wig to hide her identity and to help her better understand that this was just a role she was playing for the film. Elli also appears in a number of nude scenes, but the young actress was never naked as all nudity was done with CGI.

To make matters even worse, Elli is meant to replace the man s actual daughter. It might only be considered simple paedophilia, but the film leads us to believe that the father was sexually abusing his own daughter years ago. Our horrible suspicion is confirmed when Elli recalls memories programmed into her by the father from the daughter s actual memory: Elli s voice is heard saying „Mum doesn t need to know everything.”

The film has been criticised by many for seeking to promote pedophilia, domestic violence and child abuse. The work has also caused a huge uproar among viewers. Most people were repulsed and simply disgusted, with audience members walking out from the film s premiere.
