Democrats have money for everything except helping Americans
In one year, the Biden-Harris administration has sent $385 million to Lebanon, while practically turning its back on the victims of Hurricane Helene domestically.
Recently Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris proudly boasted that she and President Joe Biden are sending $157 million in humanitarian aid to Lebanese civilians. She added that this brings the total US aid to Lebanon over the course of a year to more than $385 million.
By comparison, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced on 4 October that it had so far provided $45 million for disaster relief: $23 million to Florida, $17 million to North Carolina, and $4.5 million to South Carolina.
All this while thousands of Americans have lost their homes, businesses, possessions, pets and in some cases family members to Hurricane Helene. Survivors of the natural disaster can apply to FEMA for a range of additional assistance such as Displacement Assistance, used to pay for a stay in a hotel or motel. However these sums pale in comparison to the amount of money the Biden-Harris administration is sending to another continent.
Over the weekend, nearly 300,000 American homes and businesses were still without power. More than 220 Americans have died in the hurricane and hundreds are still missing. Recovery efforts are ongoing with some towns still only accessible by air. Despite this, Harris posted the following on X:
The people of Lebanon are facing an increasingly dire humanitarian situation. I am concerned about the security and well-being of civilians suffering in Lebanon and will continue working to help meet the needs of all civilians there.
To that end, the United States will provide…
