PM Orban will represent a “firm and strong position” at the EU-Western Balkans summit in Tirana, the premier said, adding that Hungary has a vested interest in the accession of the Western Balkan countries to the European Union as soon as possible.

„Their integration is essential for Hungary in terms of the country’s security because we can close off the migration route entirely only with Serbia’s help. It is also vital for Hungary’s energy security, as Hungarian families and companies only receive gas from the south, from the Balkans, from Serbia’s direction.”

the prime minister emphasised.

Sebia and the Western Balkans can be the gateway to cheap energy arriving to Central Europe from the south, and it can ensure the energy independence of not only Hungary, but the whole of Central Europe.

„It is time! This is what we will represent. Let’s not hesitate any longer! The European Union should finally grant membership to Serbia and the other Western Balkan states,”

the Hungarian premier said in the video.
