PM Orban: I trust that a period bringing more happiness is to come
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban saluted every member of the Hungarian Jewish community, wishing a happy and sweet new year on the occasion of the Jewish New Year, the prime minister's press chief Bertalan Havasi said on Monday.
The letter with the prime minister’s festive message was delivered to the leaders of Hungarian Jewish organisations again this year, Bertalan Havasi added.
In his letter, Viktor Orban wrote: according to the order of the created world, darkness is replaced by light, heavy rains are followed by sunshine, and bitter days are always followed by sweet ones. We are saying farewell to a year now, he continued, that brought many ominous clouds and bitterness also, regretfully, “which makes me trust that the sound of the shofar this year will mark the beginning of a period that is to bring more happiness.
