What we saw in Poland in the past few days is nothing less than an attempt to divide the Polish people. The events unfolding in the country are highly reminiscent of what was going on a few years ago in Macedonia, the consequences of which the Macedonians must live with to this day.

„What we are seeing in Poland, the events unfolding in the past few days, is nothing less than an attempt to divide the Polish people not only on this particular issue, but in every regard. This is just the beginning of a push that will continue, and will lead to deep rifts in Polish society, among its citizens. It will also seriously influence Polish people s view of their own country and their own sentiments toward it. I don t say this because I m some kind of an expert in Poland, but I speak from experience”, Nenad Mirchevski, a journalist and a former member of the organisation Stop Operation Soros, told V4NA.

Stop Operation Soros (SOS) was formed in 2017 in collaboration with civilians and journalists in Macedonia to highlight the external influences affecting Macedonian domestic politics and the role of US billionaire speculator George Soros s network in Macedonia. The leader of SOS drew attention to the fact that the left-wing SDSM party, currently in government, had been supported exclusively by George Soros for 20 years, meaning that the billionaire had a direct say in Macedonian domestic politics in that period.

The US stock market speculator has been present in Macedonia since 1992 through his Open Society Foundations and has a good relationship with Prime Minister Zoran Zaev. They met and talked several times in person.

They also influenced Macedonian politics through another organisation, the European Stability Initiative (ESI) think thank.

Regarding Katica Janeva s case there is evidence that the audio recordings used by Zoran Zaev to bring down Gruevski s right-wing government in 2015 were manipulated.

„Macedonia s Colour Revolution took place in 2015 and 2016. It was organised by far-left NGOs, many of whom were funded by George Soros s Open Society Foundations and the US Embassy, the EU Embassy and the embassies of individual EU member states, such as the Netherlands, Sweden…”

„Its goal was to bring down the right-wing, conservative government in Macedonia. In order to achieve this goal, the organisers looked for such sensitive and divisive issues that they could use to carve up our society and divide our citizens along ideological lines,” Cvetin Chilimanov, a former Stop Operation Soros member, told V4NA.

Regarding the series of demonstrations in Poland, he noted that he sees many similarities between the pro-abortion demonstrations there, and the events unfolding in Macedonia.

„In Macedonia also some of the protests were targeting the Church and many large rallies were staged with the aim of preventing the reconstruction of a church destroyed by the communist regime after the war. To this day Macedonia s left-wing parties have managed to prevent the rebuilding of
this church. So, we never had any attacks on churches, but we definitely saw attempts to prevent their reconstruction. The rhetoric they used was meant to divide the society along the more conservative and traditional citizens and the urban, obviously more secular ones, who don t hold their religious and national identity in such high esteem,” Chilimanov recalled.

He added that in Macedonia, „the left-wing parties and NGOs staged a joint protest with members of the Islamic community – the Muslim believers – who have lined up behind the left-wing coalition demanding, for instance, that if a church is rebuilt on Skopje s main square, then a mosque should also be built. This is something all leftist movements in Europe have in common: they
attack the Church and they attack traditional values”.

However, it was not only the Church that came under attack. The Colour Revolution and leftist movements were also meant to dismantle Macedonia s national identity, creating further tensions and deeper divisions in society. „Macedonia has been dealt another blow targeting the very foundations of its traditions, nation and people,” Cvetin Chilimanov told V4NA.

„ Macedonia has become a desecrated nation: we have lost our right to self-determination as a people. Macedonia s national heroes honoured by Macedonians have been consigned to neighbouring countries based on bilateral treaties that have been forced on us and signed by Macedonia s left-wing government. Today Macedonia s heroes are being claimed by other nations as their heroes, and our nation is palpably disintegrating. Many are forced to declare themselves as Serbs or Bulgarians, while some tend to orient themselves towards Greece,” he said.

„It is therefore clear that the successfully completed Colour Revolution has had profound consequences on one country. Today Macedonia is a state without roots and traditions, on the verge of inter-ethnic partition,” Chilimanov pointed out.

As a conclusion Nenad Mirchevski added, „I can hope that the Polish people would remain wise and united as that is the only way they can retain their national sentiments and national pride, the values they have preserved and cherished for centuries. Don t allow yourselves to be drawn into a situation where it would be too late. Don t end up like we did here in the Republic of Macedonia.”
