On Friday, Aleksandar Vucic paid a visit to Vojvodina’s Srem District, where he commented on the arrest warrant put out on Russia’s president. The International Criminal Court (ICC) issued the warrant of arrest for Vladimir Putin on Friday for his alleged responsibility in war crimes.

Speaking to journalists, Serbia’s head of state expressed concern that clashes are developing in a direction that will lead to unprecedented large-scale fighting.

„Is there anyone sane enough in this world to put an end to the issue? Does anyone understand the consequences we are headed for?”

Mr Vucic asked.

He will continue to strive to ensure that Serbia is able to protect itself and its peace, the president of the Republic of Serbia underlined.

„We also have some irresponsible people here who can hardly wait to drag our country into this insanity as if we needed anything like that,”

Aleksandar Vucic stressed.

The situation is getting ever more complicated, and we must stay out of it, he remarked.

On Saturday, Aleksandar Vucic will travel to Ohrid in North Macedonia to hold talks with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and the representatives of the European Union on the normalisation of relations between Belgrade and Pristina.

Regarding the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Serbia stood up for the territorial integrity of Ukraine, but did not impose sanctions against Russia.
