Delaying or cancelling the programme was out of the question, PM Orban said, referring to a summit of the Visegrad countries’ House Speakers planned for this week, which was recently postponed.

Earlier, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala also announced that he would travel to the V4 prime ministers’ summit, making it clear that he did not share the position of the leaders of the Prague parliament who boycotted the meeting of V4 house speakers. According to Czech press reports, Mr Fiala called the cooperation between the Visegrad countries useful.

Poland, alongside Slovakia and the Czech Republic, will ask Hungary for a swift ratification of Finland and Sweden’s NATO accession, Polish PM Mateusz Morawiecki said in connection with the upcoming V4 summit, to be held in Kosice.

V4 cooperation is still important today, although its „dynamics have changed” as a result of the Russia-Ukraine war, PM Orban said on Friday.
