V4NA puts Soros network on map - Part I

For decades, US stock market speculator George Soros has been supporting various organisations around the globe that seek to spread the ideology of the so-called open society worldwide. In Part 1 of its series of articles, V4NA highlights the network s activities in the United States.

According to data available on the official website of the Open Society Foundations (OSF), George Soros gave financial support to a total of 571 organisations, scholarships, and collaborations in the United States in 2018.

According to the data, 64 organisations received more than 500 thousand dollars. Three organisations, the National Redistricting Foundation, the Sixteen Thirty Fund, and the Campaign for Black Male Achievement, collected a whopping 2.5 million dollars each from Soros.

89 organisations received grants between 250 and 500 thousand dollars, 144 pocketed sums from 100 to 250 thousand, 121 were awarded 50 to 100 thousand, with 154 organisations getting between 1,000 and 50 thousand dollars in funding from Soros.

In most cases, OSF provided general support to those organisations, but there are issues which Soros holds especially dear, such as migration. The stock market speculator spent nearly 5 million dollars on immigration-related activity in the United States.

There are several organisations which have received more than one grant in parallel from OSF.

One of Soros s favourite organisations appears to be Tides, whose branches (Tides Foundation, Tides Center, Tides Advocacy) applied successfully 17 times for a total of nearly 6.5 million dollars.

The New Venture Fund cannot complain either: they have earned 4.5 million dollars in total through 15 grants of different amounts.

The map clearly shows that George Soros concentrates his money more on the east coast of the United States, which comes as no surprise as Washington is also located there.

There are more than 100 organisations with offices in the US capital which are on the funding list of OSF. The other city with nearly 100 organisations funded by Soros is New York City, followed by Baltimore and San Francisco.

However George Soros supports not only NGOs: OSF also awarded fellowships, on which Soros spent a total of 4.54 million dollars, and internships, which received 68.5 thousand dollars from the investor in 2018.
