Even Democratic donors want Joe Biden replaced – video

Leading donors to the Democratic Party are reportedly already discussing who should replace Joe Biden as the presidential nominee.

Joe Biden’s mental health is no longer questioned only by Republicans, but also by Democratic voters, some party politicians and, more recently, the party’s biggest donors. It is understandable, as the 80-year-old US president entertained the world with some interesting scenes at the NATO summit in Vilnius this week. He even confused Russian President Vladimir Putin with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, while the latter was standing next to him at the podium.

After the NATO summit, he was in Helsinki for talks. At the press event, his ears simply gave out, as he could not hear the journalist after repeated attempts.

Then, as he was about to leave Helsinki, he stumbled on the steps of his plane, as usual, then waving his hand in confusion.

Just before that, he had chewed on a little girl’s dress and would have pressed a forced kiss to the frightened girl’s cheek, but she wouldn’t let him do that.

President Biden exhibited all of these strange behaviours in the last few days, and we have seen a blooper or two from the oldest sitting US president in history almost every week for the last few months. Earlier, when he attended the Gulf Cooperation Council summit, he apparently had to discuss exhausting topics with the leaders of the other countries, closing his eyes for a moment and then falling asleep in the middle of the meeting. Videos posted on the internet show that he almost fell asleep even as he was speaking.

Earlier, the US President took a siesta at a climate summit.

It was also memorable when Mr Biden appeared to fall asleep while negotiating with then Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett.

He is often distracted at public events. He has recently shook hands with nobody after finishing his speech in Greensboro, North Carolina. The president wandered aimlessly on the podium for a short while before going to his bodyguards.

The US President also shook hands with imaginary people at another event.

Prior to that, the US president even forgot who his wife was at a press conference when he mistook her for his vice-president. „There’s been a change in the organisation here on stage because the First Lady’s husband contracted Covid,” the president explained with a smile, to which the room erupted in loud laughter, but even then Biden did not understand what people were laughing about. As he continued, one of his assistants interrupted him to explain that the First Lady, his wife, was sitting in the front row of the audience and that he was the First Lady’s husband. Joe Biden then tried to make a comic rescue, but even his wife blushed.

At the press event below, the president of the world’s greatest power was also extremely distracted.

It come as little surprise that America’s first man is an embarrassment also to his own supporters. Democrat donors scheme amongst themselves to replace Biden as their party’s candidate, CNN’s Edward-Isaac Dovere reported.

“The conversations keep happening – quiet whispers on the sidelines of events, texts, emails, furtive phone calls – as top Democrats and donors reach out to those seen as possible replacement presidential candidates …They feel like time is already running out and that the lack of the more robust campaign activity they want to see is a sign that his heart isn’t really in it.”

says Dovere. Despite the report of donors opposing Biden, one of the largest issues involved in replacing Biden is the lack of consensus about who would replace him. Polling shows Biden is not well supported within the party. But polling also shows no candidate is the outright alternative to him.

According to a recent poll by The Economist/YouGov, only four out of ten Democrats think Biden is the „strongest” candidate the Democratic Party could nominate in 2024.

The New York Times cited Vice President Kamala Harris, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and Senator Elizabeth Warren as alternatives – though these names do not capture the imagination of party supporters.

The YouGov poll found that 82 per cent of independents also expressed concern about the president’s health.
