Soros also appears around Burisma, the company tied to Hunter Biden

US stock market speculator George Soros has been present in Ukraine since 1990 through his organisations. Besides his foundation playing a major role in the bloody revolution that erupted in 2013, the 90-year-old businessman has been seen around a number of Ukrainian energy companies.

The New York Post has recently published some e-mails from Joe Biden s son, Hunter Biden, about his relations with Burisma in Ukraine.

These e-mails published by the paper suggest that Hunter Biden had introduced his father, then vice president under Barack Obama, to senior executives at the Ukrainian energy company Burisma a year before Biden put pressure on Ukrainian government officials to fire the attorney general, wh was investigating possible corruption cases in Burisma.

Hunter Biden was a member of Burisma s board of directors since 2014 for a monthly salary of 50,000 dollars. His relationship with Burisma and his other lucrative businesses in China and Russia were already known, unlike the fact that he had intrduced his father to the leaders of the Ukrainian energy company.

An e-mail dated May 2015 revealed that Vadim Pozharsky, an advisor to the Burisma board, thanked Hunter Biden for introducing him to his father. A year earlier, the same Ukrainian expert had written to Hunter Biden about „how he could use his influence” for the benefit of the Ukrainian company.

A picture of a programme schedule circulating on Twitter shows that a day before the e-mail was sent, Joe Biden had met stock market speculator George Soros and Amos Hochstein, Special Envoy for International Energy in the Obama administration. However, the meeting is not listed in the official schedule of the White House.

George Soros has a considerable interest in Ukraine. It is no coincidence that, according to the compilation of the Ukrainian Vesti news portal in Kiev, the US stock market speculator is viewed as the second most influential person in the country.

Soros s foundation has been present in Ukraine since 1990 through the International Renaissance Foundation. The Ukrainian Anti-Corruption Action Center (AntAC) is one of its largest projects in Ukraine. It was co-funded by Soros, the USID USA and the US Embassy in Kiev for years.

It s worth noting that US public funds drew to a halt when Donald Trump became president and the Open Society Foundations made quite an effort to fill the vacancy. In 2018, for example, it granted AntAC 188,000 dollars.

According to the American Daily Caller portal, the Anti-Corruption Action Centre received 210 thousand dollars from the International Renaissance Foundation between 2013 and 2016.

As George Soros showed serious interest in the Ukrainian energy industry, he tried to put pressure on Burisma through the Anti-Corruption Centre and Transparency International, also funded by him.

Using propaganda tools and social media, Soros s NGOs attacked the private company with various graft allegations. Burisma s owner, Nikolay Zlochevskyi, was under suspicion for corruption and tax evasion, but separate investigations in the United Kingdom and Ukraine have led to the dropping of all charges against Burisma and Mr Zlochevskyi.

The 90-year-old subverter also appeared around Naftogaz, Ukraine s largest state-owned energy company that was just awaiting privatisation. The company is engaged in the extraction, transmission and refining of natural gas and crude oil.

Amnesty International, another Soros organisation, prepared a report on the corruption surrounding Naftogaz, while George Soros himself described Naftogaz as „the gas monopoly that is the main source of corruption and budget deficits in Ukraine”. From the beginning, the billionaire was in favour of breaking up Naftogaz and privatising some of its parts and, in order to achieve this, he used his political influence to push his allies into leadership positions at Naftogaz.

This is also suggested by the fact that according to an official, publicly accessible Naftogaz document, Andriy Kobolyev, the company s CEO, met George Soros in London between 1 and 4 November 2017 to „discuss privatisation plans for Naftogaz”.

Yevhen Bystrytsky, head of the International Renaissance Foundation between 1999 and 2018, revealed to an undercover journalist how Soros s acquisition of influence worked in practice. He said, „we have been engaged in business once or a couple of times. For example, we have a company, Naftogaz, this is a large energy firm, perhaps you have heard about it, and we helped to transform it into a market-based company (…), and we did it, we restructured it”. In connection with Naftogaz, Bystrytsky eventually disclosed that in fact they created free market conditions.

Regarding the Soros-Naftogaz affair, even Forbes wrote that allegedly the company s entire leadership had assumed their positions thanks to lobbying by George Soros.

Back in 2015, George Soros revealed in an interview that he was ready to invest 1 billion dollars in Ukraine, adding that the investment would benefit his foundation and not him, personally.
