Dog walking may be an exception to the newly introduced night curfew, in place between 8 pm to 5 am because of the coronavirus epidemic, but the details of the regulation fall within the local governments remit, PM Viktor Orban said in a video shared on Facebook on Tuesday.

The agreement was reached by PM Orban and Peter Ovadi, commissioner for the renewal and implementation of the National Animal Protection Programme, in the parliament building.

The introduction of detailed regulations regarding the closure of dog parks has also been referred to the local governments, Viktor Orban said.

The issue affects around 1.5 million dog owners, the two sides said.
