„I have just signed the government decree which states that we will increase pensions by 15 per cent from 1 January in Hungary,” Viktor Orban began his video message on the subject. He added:

„Due to the failed sanctions by Brussels, the energy crisis is raging throughout Europe. This also worries and impacts us, Hungarians. We must protect ourselves. We Hungarians are protecting families with price caps and utility bill reductions, but in doing so we must not forget that Hungary has great goals that go beyond the difficult times. One of those big goals is to ensure that pensioners can live in dignity and preserve the value of their pensions. We have achieved this goal every year since 2010. Now that we are increasing pensions by 15 per cent from 1 January, this will also be the case in 2023. Pensioners can count on us,”

PM Orban said.
