A shop owner in Germany is facing accusations of racism after expressing concerns about mass looting by migrants. A left-wing politician argued that migrants have the right to steal.

Mr Gatzke, who operates the grocery store, informed Bild that the primary culprits for the theft, leaving with large bags filled with unpaid goods, are mostly migrants. Approximately one-third of these individuals are Tunisian nationals.

As reported by Bild, one man managed to steal goods valued at 140 euros from a supermarket, while there are instances of migrants attempting thefts in the €300 range.

„The bag contained spirits: vodka and liqueurs. But they are Muslims, so did they want to pass on the alcohol?” – Mr Gatzke questioned. He expressed curiosity about

why someone would need 10 sea breams and so many prawns. „Nobody steals this much just because they are hungry”.

Mr Gatzke observed that the culprits are even taking the shopping bags.

Many, however, accused Mr Gatzke of racism for telling the truth about the thieving migrants.

According to Ferat Kocak, a member of the German left-wing Die Linke party, criminals are „entitled” to steal, because giving them enough free money in welfare payments, the Modernity news portal writes.

„I’d say that people should get back what they deserve,”

– Mr Kocak wrote on his social media, reacting to Bild’s report. One of the central problems is that authorities are overloaded and many refugees are not even paid what they need to live,” he added.
