On Friday Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and his political director, Balazs Orban, received economics professor Jeffrey Sachs, a lecturer at the most prestigious US universities, Mr Orban's press chief told Hungary’s state news agency (MTI).

Their discussion focused on the war in Ukraine, and they agreed on the importance of an immediate ceasefire and peace talks, and that Western countries should be much more cautious in their military support to Ukraine.

PM Orban and Professor Sachs say that the escalation of war must be avoided before some irreversible tragedy would occur.
