Summits in Brussels

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban arrived in Brussels, where he participated in the summit of the European Union and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations on Wednesday, Bertalan Havasi, head of the PM's Press Office, informed Hungary's state news agency (MTI).

The two organizations established diplomatic relations with each other 45 years ago, and in 2020 they raised their cooperation to the level of a strategic partnership. At Wednesday’s summit, the leaders of the member states discussed world political challenges, the development of economic and trade relations, the green transition regarding climate change, investments in digital infrastructure and the EU-ASEAN action plan for 2023-27. In the afternoon, the Hungarian premier held bilateral talks with the leaders of several countries belonging to the ASEAN group, the press chief said.
