Number of child labor cases spikes in United States

The United States has seen a spike in cases of child labor, which is attributable to the border crisis. Despite the fact that immigration causes huge problems in the US, most Democrats deny that there is a crisis.

WORLD JULY 28. 2023 14:13

According to the US Department of Labor, between October 2022 and July 2023, 765 reports of child labor were investigated across the US, revealing that

4,474 children were illegally employed, a 44 percent increase over the previous year.

As a result, over $6.6 million in fines were handed down to companies found to be engaging in practices that violated child labor laws.

The influx of unaccompanied minors is attributable to „Biden’s open-border policies,” The Post Millennial reports. There was a surge in unaccompanied minors entering the country during Biden’s time in office. As the New York Times reports, to deal with the influx, his administration pressured the HHS to match children with adult sponsors as quickly as possible. In many cases, this meant doing away with certain protections, such as performing background checks on those who were supposed to act as caregivers.

As a result, many fell victim to predatory sponsors who forced them to work.

Meanwhile, traffickers are inventing new ways to get more people into the United States for greater profits. An attempt to smuggle 17 migrants into the United States was thwarted last weekend, after surveillance cameras spotted smugglers cutting a hole in the border. The migrant group was found inside and in the back of a truck painted to look just like a border patrol vehicle, the ZeroHedge portal writes.

As V4NA also reported, the deterioration of public safety is not the only factor negatively affecting the lives of Americans due to the border crisis and excessive immigration.

The brutal wave of migration keeps the housing costs sky high, which is a complaint voiced foremost by investors, but also by ordinary citizens. All of this is a direct consequence of US President Joe Biden and his migration policy, people believe. The Wall Street Journal reports that rising immigration is preventing housing purchase prices and rents from falling, which is especially painful for people in the midst of an inflation crisis.

According to some surveys, a one per cent increase in migration means an average three per cent increase in housing costs.

Mindezek ellenére, a Gallup közvélemény-kutató felmérése szerint

Despite all this, the Gallup pollster has found that

83% of Democratic voters deny there is any border crisis in the US, despite the fact that more than 7 million illegal immigrants have entered the country since Joe Biden took office.

Compared to 2019, Democrats’ description of the situation as a crisis fell 20 percentage points to 17%.
