The designer stands accused of child abuse for selling pants that seek to flatten the genitals of boys to look more girlish. A father and his trans daughter have also marketed similar underwear earlier.

It was not long ago that clothes designer Carmen Liu launched the first commercially available „flattening and tucking underwear”. The underwear was designed to flatten the side profile of the pelvic area, efficiently concealing all signs of the male genitals from unwanted attention.

Liu, a former ballet dancer, who was born a man but identifies as a woman, decided to sell undergarments for people who wish to suppress and conceal their gender characteristics, and for boys in particular, according to the Daily Mail.

Healthcare professionals warn against the garments as they could cause permanent infertility for their wearers by putting sustained pressure on the genitals.

Liu is now

accused of child abuse as these flattening and tucking briefs are also available in sizes suitable for kids.

There is a separate section for kids on the company’s website that says „Carmen Liu Kids is here for trans girls and non-binary children in their journey. We are the world’s first company (you heard!) to listen to the children that need us. Each product is here to provide children with the stepping stones to finding themselves, in a supportive, validating experience”.

The website, however, makes no mention of the serious damage the prolonged wearing of these items could cause to children.

The webshop also offers an activity pack that includes puzzles, colouring-in, learning and two personal letters from Carmen to the young person and their parent.

„Each step towards positive change needs to be small. One step at a time. Too much at one point can overwhelm. The CARMEN LIU KIDS Activity Pack begins the emotional journey, whilst giving time to process each step feeling loved and validated. When ready for the next step forward, we are here to provide the stepping stone. The briefs and T-shirts are ready when needed,” the website says.

In the webshop, which offers items for little boys,

Carmen Liu also displays a range of erotic, lacy bras designed for pubescent girls.

As V4NA agency reported earlier, Carmin Liu wasn’t the only label to start producing underwear for transgender and sexually transitioning children.

When a father and his son couldn’t find a perfectly suitable swimsuit or underwear for transgender kids, they decided to come up with their own brand. Jamie Alexander lives in Canada with his child, 13-year-old Ruby, who was born a boy but identifies as a girl.

Their experience was that while there are swimsuits and undergarments for transgender kids, none were perfect for Ruby. That’s why they came up with the idea of creating their own collection that includes items other than the ones mentioned above. The brand, named Rubies, offers body-contouring garments and advertises – among other things – “to magically turn a pointed wand into a graceful dune”.

Ruby goes on to say the outside of the swimsuit is made of body-shaping spandex material, and the inside has two layers of mesh that the child says “keeps everything in place”. The transgender girl says there is no need for the boys to stuff padding into the front of their panties or to tuck their penises.

The father told Buzzfeed in an interview that his child had embarked on the path of gender transitioning at the age of three. By this time, Ruby was starting to take an interest in girly clothes and shoes, and at the age of four, she wasn’t building sand castles on the beach, but trying to fold her towel into a skirt.

Jamie seems to have already accepted this behaviour as proof that his son actually wants to be a girl. Later, Ruby became obsessed with princesses and stories like Tangled, and by the time she was in third grade, both her father and Ruby decided that the child was ready for transitioning.
