Germany to turn EU into one big superstate

Poland will soon come to a crossroads and must decide whether its citizens will succumb to Germany's aspirations to turn the European Union into one big European state, or support the path of the EU based on sovereign member states, the president of Poland's ruling party said.

The stakes are really high, Jaroslaw Kaczynski told a recent public forum. Germany is striving to implement its own „European project,” which also aims at creating a new political situation on the continent, the ruling Law and Justice party’s (PiS) president pointed out.

„The European project is the subject of many debates, but I think little is known about it in our country. This is something that today’s elite, especially the elite in Brussels, is cotrolling (…) This project is a complex set of steps. This is a plan with political, economic and cultural implications,

Mr Kaczynski said, bluntly underlining that the goal of this plan is to transform the European Union into a European state.

„Such statements have been made on numerous occasions before, but we are living in times when they can be uttered rather directly. Today they can be spelled out with such openness that we’ve never seen before. They make clear that this project will lead to the creation of one state. If such a state were to be created, and if Germany succeeded in implementing this so-called „Scholz plan”, then this state would instantly have enormous power.

From Poland’s perspective, the question arises whether this is a path Poland should follow, so that it – after getting rid of Soviet boots – could succumb to German boots. We have to ask ourselves whether such a solution is worthwhile for the Poles. If we look at our own history, we can say one thing: life under any boots is bad,”

the politician said. Although the president of PiS indicated that Poland should be a part of the European Union, he said there are different ideas about the EU today.

Previously, Jaroslaw Kaczynski had expressed sharp criticism along similar lines, when he spoke about the fact that there is a political bloc in Poland led by Donald Tusk that would serve the interests of Germany, if it assumed power.

„On the one hand, there is the Polish right wing, which has smaller cracks, but is united, and it is a truly Polish party, there can be no doubt about that. There is also a pro-German bloc in Poland, and our next election will be decided between those who are pro-Polish and pro-German, who are ready to do anything just to get into parliament,”

said Mr Kaczynski, who believes that the Poles will face a very serious decision during next year’s election.

„Maximum utilisation of the opportunities offered by the right wing is possible only on the condition that we do not return to the policy of robbing our country, the budget and public finances, where the state does not respond to crises. These were the policies of the Civic Platform,”

the ruling party chief said, recalling the last governing period of the now opposition Civic Platform (PO). He added that the measures taken by the PO-PSL government between 2007 and 2015 were „based on manipulation,” which is „a denial of democracy,” because voters do not recognise the actual goals of these measures.

„Passivity, impossibility, manipulation, in other words a dishonest game played with society, would return, I would like to warn everyone about this,”

Mr Kaczynski told voters.
