Speaking about the LGBT issue at the latest stage of his election campaign, Polish President Andrzej Duda contended that LGBT itself is not a community but an ideology and, as such, it can be compared to Communism and Bolshevism. According to Mr Duda, the similarity lies in their followers, who try to force their ideology on others.

Each week the Polish president hosts a Q&A session on his social media, where participants can discuss any current issue. In this week s segment, Mr Duda spoke about government subsidies affecting Polish families, a topic he deems important because nowadays families are faced with several challenges.

One of these is the purposeful re-education of children without parental consent, an increasingly common trend in schools that shows the influence of the LGBT ideology. President Duda believes that parents have a natural say in what is being taught to their children, especially when it comes to topics related to sexuality, in order to protect their kids from being spoonfed liberal principles.

Speaking on a similar subject, the Polish president said he plans to ban the teaching of LGBT ideology in public institutions as well as the promotion of homosexuality in schools. According to Mr Duda, these ideologies are foreign to Poles, moreover, sexuality education for children is their parents job.

President Duda also unveiled a draft bill for families on Wednesday, pledging to protect the institution of marriage and put the interests of families first, arguing that they are the priority in Poland. In contrast, Mr Duda s opponent in the upcoming elections, Rafal Trzaskowski, had signed an LGBT+ agreement earlier, which states that Polish schools would be required to provide LGBT education, a trend also promoted by both the UN and WHO.
