Hungarian healthcare ready, left should stop scaremongering campaign

Hospitals have sufficient bed numbers, enough ventilators and enough specialists, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Human Capacities (EMMI), which responded to "fake news reports by the press" and "the lies spread by the left." The ministry has also published the accurate figures.

Hungary s healthcare system is prepared to tackle the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic. Contrary to fake news circulating in the press and false claims spread by the left, we would like to point out that the bed numbers in hospitals are sufficient, and we have enough ventilators and professionals, the statement said.

Clearly speaking, according to Friday s data, 1,839 hospital beds are equipped with ventilators. 812 of those have been prepared for coronavirus treatment, of which a total of 29 are currently in use.

Also, there are 9,487 hospital beds to treat coronavirus patients, of which 384 are used today, and more than 16,000 ventilators are available.

These capacities can be further expanded if necessary. According to the plan set up by Hungarian healthcare professionals in the spring to tackle the pandemic, the treatment of Covid-19 patients would only take place in a few hospitals in order to minimise the risks of infection. If, however, a designated institution becomes full, according to preliminary plans, another institution will be added to the list of hospitals designed to treat coronavirus patients, with the necessary healthcare workers, physicians, nurses, and technicians being delegated from other institutions. Every equipment and healthcare professional in charge of those tools has their place.

We ask the left wing not to do what they did during the first wave of the pandemic. Instead of producing fake videos and churning out fake news, they should focus on helping Hungarys pandemic response efforts.
