PM Orban receives the Pope: Christianity has the power to preserve the nation of Hungary
Prime Minister Viktor Orban had a closed-door meeting in the presidential Sandor Palace with His Holiness Pope Francis, who arrived in Hungary for a three-day pastoral visit, Mr Orban's press chief told Hungary's state news agency (MTI).
During the discussion Viktor Orban recalled: as our Fundamental Law says, in Hungary, Christianity has the power to preserve the nation.
Without Christianity, Hungary would not exist today, he pointed out, adding:
that Hungary has a future if it stays on the Christian path, and the Christian path today is the path of peace.
