Prime Minister Orban sent a letter of congratulation to Florin Citu on his election as Romania s prime minister, the Hungarian premier s press chief told Hungary s state news agency (MTI) on Thursday.

„I am convinced that cooperation between Romania and Hungary based on mutual respect will in the years ahead contribute much to our countries development, as well as to strengthening the EU s economy and the well-being of its citizens”, Viktor Orban wrote.

He expressed delight that representatives of Romania s ethnic Hungarian community have been given key roles in the new coalition government.

„I wish that together they succeed in implementing every part of their government programme. When it comes to developing ties between our countries, as well as our international cooperation and achieving our mutual goals, I d like to ensure that you can count on my government s support ” PM Orban wrote.
