Police no longer tolerate aggression of migrants
Several police officers have posted messages on their social media pages calling attention to attacks against their colleagues. A video showing three policemen being beaten by a group of immigrants because the officers wanted to arrest their friend for felony has gone viral
Brussels police have posted a video on social media to draw the city s attention to the brutal attacks committed against officers. The clip shows a group of passers-by with a migrant background forcing three policemen to the ground and repeatedly kicking and punching them, after the officers took action against their friend. Vincent Houssin, vice president of the local SLFP police union, said the man arrested by the officers is the suspect of a violent burglary case, which makes the agression of the passers-by against the officers even more questionable.
In the text accompanying the video, the union specifically calls out Brussels State Secretary Pascal Smet and Flemish Minister Benjamin Dalle, who is in charge of Brussels. „What do you think, Pascal Smet and Benjamin Dalle? Should our colleagues have tackled it differently? Was this a priority?” the union writes, referring to Smet s earlier criticism levelled at police.
Hoe onze collega s hun werk moeten doen in Anderlecht (Bergensesteenweg)… Wat denken jullie @SmetPascal en @dalle_benjamin? Hadden onze collega s het anders moeten aanpakken? Was dit een prioriteit? #regelrechteschande pic.twitter.com/zFGFPafKyI
