During the discussion, the prime ministers reviewed the situation in Ukraine, with a special focus on the refugee crisis as both countries neighbour Ukraine and have been assisting hundreds of thousands of refugees fleeing the war.

Mr Orban welcomed the Moldovan government’s plan for furthering acceptance of its EU membership candidacy. Hungary will support Moldova’s EU integration throughout the process leading to membership, the press chief said.

Natalia Gavrilita and Viktor Orban commended the historic relations between the two countries and supported the further strengthening of bilateral cooperation in the areas of economy and education, Mr Havasi concluded.
